Highest standard of training
Our Pilates Matwork Teacher Training Course gives you access onto the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) at Level 3: the recognised UK national standard. This qualification will automatically distinguish you as being trained at the highest possible standard.
During the 10 practical days studying face-to-face with Tula Training you will learn how to safely teach clients as part of both group classes and one-to-one. You will learn how to assess and adapt exercises; plan stimulating, safe and fun Pilates classes; and be ready to teach from day one of graduation.
You will be expertly guided through your practical Pilates teacher training by highly experienced tutors with over 20 years of first hand industry knowledge.
Whereas other Pilates training courses are often run by teaching staff who no longer teach Pilates to clients, Tula Training tutors all currently work as Pilates teachers. This ensures we have a wealth of up-to-date expertise and relevant working experience to share with you as you learn.
Additionally, all our tutors have been handpicked to provide you with the greatest variety of experience and relevant specialisms. Our anatomy of Pilates modules are taught by Tula Training founder, Carolyn Bailey, a highly experienced Specialist Musculoskeletal and Clinical Pilates Rehabilitation Physiotherapist.
We have been successfully employing Pilates teachers for over 15 years at our thriving sister studio in Kemptown – Pilates in Brighton – and know what it takes to be a first-rate Pilates teacher. We have therefore developed our training content to far exceed the minimum requirements necessary to pass your final exam.

We purposefully keep our course numbers small so that we can give you the necessary depth of teaching practice and one-to-one support in order for you to be fully confident in your teaching capabilities and knowledge.

Your teacher trainers have a wealth of experience in pilates and fitness training, clinical pilates and physiotherapy. You couldn’t be in safer hands! Carolyn considers Pilates to be beneficial for everyone and focusses on offering one-to-one consultations with a variety of clients as well as running small-group sessions, using both the Pilates reformer machines and matwork classes.
Helen believes that Pilates is a fundamental practice in life and can transform your body and mind. Her attention to detail whilst teaching and understanding of the movement helps clients and teachers develop their true physical potential.
Founder of Tula Training Ltd and Pilates in Brighton Carolyn is a highly experienced expert pilates trainer, Specialist Musculoskeletal and Clinical Pilates Rehabilitation Physiotherapist with extensive experience in both London’s NHS teaching hospitals and private practices. Before relocating to Brighton and setting up her thriving Pilates studio in Kemptown in 2010, Carolyn was also the company physiotherapist for the highly esteemed Rambert Dance Company.
Carolyn has extensive experience in training teachers. She was Senior Lecturer and Assessor at Aquarobics for over 10 years running training courses for exercise instructors, midwives, physiotherapists. Visiting lecturer and Examiner at St Marys University – Hydrotherapy and Sports Injuries module. Course Director and Examiner for RSA Exercise to Music Course at University of London.
Helen has always had a strong passion for dance and movement which started at an early age with 15 years training in ballet and contemporary dance. She initially qualified with Body Control Pilates in 2003 and then went on to complete her studio machine training with Body Pilates Europe in London. Helen has now been teaching Pilates for over 12 years and has taught in numerous acclaimed studios including The Pilates and Rehabilitation Studio in South Kensington alongside Gordon Thompson and Ellie Ioannidou.
As well as running mat classes ranging from Beginner-Advanced Level, Helen also teaches 121 sessions with a strong focus on flow, technique and rehabilitation. She has set up numerous workshops for the more advanced client and pilates teachers, and continues to provide individual training for many teachers.
Helen continues to develop as a practitioner of Pilates and loves the breadth and depth of the method and how it will support and challenge everyone from injured to athlete.
